Dear readers, a ditty is all I have time for right now as I complete the final editing phase of my next memoir on MS, friendship and an unruly rescue dog. But feeling the creative juices flowing in this stunning crisp spring air prompted me to pen a note of encouragement to my future self. Most people with multiple sclerosis will tell you that heat and humidity are our kryptonite. I just hope I remember to read it when the cycle repeats and I’m forced into retreat.

A Note To Be Opened In The Summer

You’re brain’s a flattened pancake;

Creativity is dead.

Too tired to be angry,

You’re probably in bed.

But on the other side of summer,

Your brain will reignite.

You’ll even write a ditty,

That is silly, okay, trite.

In autumn, winter, then the spring –

That’s where I am right now,

You’ll get to play with words again.

So, chin up and take a bow!

Relax, turn on the air-conditioner and keep writing. I can’t wait to read it.!!
